Estimates from the Australian Bureau of Statistics 2011–12 National Health Survey show about 3 million Australians (13.6% of the population) have back problems. It is estimated that 70–90% of people will suffer from lower back pain in some form at some point in their lives.

For the majority of people living with low back pain the exact cause is unknown. A great diagnosis that was used through my training was non specific low back pain. A set of symptoms that cause your low back to hurt. No real diagnosis, no real prognosis.

This pain is often a result of repetitive micro trauma, tears and weakness in soft tissue structures (discs, ligaments, muscles) that have developed over the years through pour postures, obesity, or perhaps even factors at work.
